The Princess and the Cake
Princess Amálka lives in a fairy-tale castle with her father, the king. She is cheerful, curious and a little bit naughty. When, on her birthday, she accidentally sprinkles mysterious sparkly sugar on her cake, the cake comes to life and runs away! A wonderfully crazy chase begins – through the castle corridors, the garden, the town square and the whole kingdom.
NARRATOR: Once upon a time, beyond seven hills, three forests and one pond - where there lived a frog convinced she was the best singer in the world - stood the beautiful Fairy-Tale Kingdom.
In the middle of it rose a big castle with pink towers, golden gates and an enormous garden.
And in this castle lived Princess Amálka.
Amálka was cheerful, curious and...
well...
a little bit naughty.
More than anything, she loved sliding down the castle's big banister.
AMÁLKA: Wheeeeee!
NARRATOR: Whoooosh!
Amálka flew past the first floor.
Whoooosh!
Past the second.
And then...
BUMP!
She landed right in the king's armchair.
KING: Amálka!
AMÁLKA: Good morning, Daddy!
KING: How many times have I told you that the banister is not a slide?
AMÁLKA: A hundred?
KING: A hundred and fifty-four times!
AMÁLKA: See? I've almost remembered it.
NARRATOR: The king tried to look very stern.
But he couldn't keep it up.
He started to laugh.
Because today was no ordinary day.
It was Princess Amálka's birthday!
The whole castle was getting ready for an enormous party.
Balloons hung in the garden.
The musicians were practising their trumpets.
The gardener was decorating the paths with flowers.
The guard was polishing his helmet.
And in the royal kitchen something extremely important was happening.
Head pastry chef Bonifác was preparing...
the biggest birthday cake in the whole kingdom!
BONIFÁC: Flour!
NARRATOR: WHOOSH!
BONIFÁC: Eggs!
NARRATOR: CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
