The Valley of Dreams – Brumko the Little Bear
A bedtime story
1. Brumko's Little House
NARRATOR: Over seven little hills... beyond one quiet forest... there stood a little house.
It was a cosy little house with blue shutters, a small chimney and a garden full of sweet-smelling flowers.
And in this very house lived a little bear called... Brumko.
Brumko was a cheerful bear.
In the daytime he ran about the forest, picked raspberries, chased butterflies... and now and then poked his paw where it didn't belong.
Mostly into the honey jar.
But this evening something was different.
Brumko was lying in his little bed.
He turned onto one side.
Then onto the other.
Then onto his back.
And then onto his tummy again.
BRUMKO: Oh... I just can't fall asleep.
NARRATOR: Brumko pulled his duvet right up to his ears.
He closed his eyes.
BRUMKO: Now I'll fall asleep for sure.
One...
Two...
Three...
No! Still nothing!
NARRATOR: He sat up in bed and looked out of the window.
A big silver moon was shining outside.
The stars were twinkling...
and the whole forest had long been asleep.
BRUMKO: How does everyone do it?
Where do dreams actually live?
NARRATOR: And at that very moment...
a little light appeared by the window.
Brumko blinked.
The little light moved.
First to the right...
then to the left...
and finally it did a little loop in the air.
BRUMKO: Hello?
NARRATOR: The little light stopped.
And a tiny voice spoke.
SPARKLE: At last!
BRUMKO: Who... who said that?
