Kobi's House on His Back
Tuki is a curious little turtle who one evening sets off to swim across Bluesea – and when her nose accidentally bumps into the strange little house on the back of a small crab called Kobi, their unusual first meeting begins.
NARRATOR: Far, far away, beyond the place where the sea meets the sky, lies a beautiful ocean world called Bluesea. By day its surface sparkles like thousands of tiny mirrors. And in the evening? In the evening Bluesea slowly grows calm. The sun sinks down to the water, the sea turns golden, and little waves roll one after another towards the shore. Shhhh... Shhhh... Shhhh... Under the surface grow colourful corals, little fish swim between them, and on the soft sand rest seashells of every possible shape. Big ones. Small ones. Round ones. Pointy ones. And even some so twisty they look like little sea lollipops. It was right there, one lovely evening, that a little turtle called Tuki was swimming. Tuki was a very curious turtle. When she saw a hole in a rock, she wanted to know who lived in it. When she saw a bubble, she wanted to know where it had floated from. And when she found a strange pebble on the seabed, she could turn it over with her flipper for ages, wondering:
TUKI: What could you be hiding?
NARRATOR: Usually it was hiding nothing. It was simply a pebble. But Tuki liked pebbles too. That evening she was swimming peacefully above the seabed. Swish... swish... swish... With her front flippers she slowly parted the water and looked around Bluesea. A shoal of little silver fish swam past her.
TUKI: Hello!
NARRATOR: The fish all turned at once and vanished among the corals. Tuki smiled.
