The Little Star Who Was Afraid to Come Down: Lumi
Little star Lumi must set off down the Starry Path to Earth for the very first time, to visit Eliáš, who can't fall asleep – and she finds out that being brave doesn't mean not being afraid. All it takes is one small first step.
Starry Sky – The Little Star Who Was Afraid to Come Down
A bedtime story
NARRATOR: High, very high above our heads, there is a place we can hardly see during the day.
It only appears when the sun sets below the horizon, the towns slowly grow quiet and the children snuggle into their little beds.
It's called...
NARRATOR: the Starry Sky.
But it isn't an ordinary sky.
It's a magical world of little stars.
Each of them has its own name, its own little house among the clouds and its own lantern glow.
And every night, some of the little stars are given a very important job.
They come down a little closer to the Earth and tell children stories to help them fall asleep sweetly.
NARRATOR: One evening the sky turned dark blue.
The Moon slowly rose from behind a little cloud, and the little stars lit up one after another.
NARRATOR: Ting...
The first one lit up.
Ting...
The second.
Ting...
The third.
And right at the edge of the Starry Sky, a little star called Lumi lit up too.
Lumi was one of the smallest stars of all.
She had five soft golden points, a tiny lantern, and when she smiled, her light was as warm as a night light by a child's bed.
But tonight Lumi wasn't smiling.
She was sitting on a little cloud, hugging her lantern and looking down at the Earth.
MOON deep, kind and calm: Tonight is your big night.
NARRATOR: It was the old Moon.
Every night he looked after all the little stars.
He knew which star should fly where, which child needed a cheerful story and which one needed a little calming before sleep.
