1. The Worst Monday in the World

NARRATOR: In a perfectly ordinary town there lived an eight-year-old boy called Dominik.

He had messy blond hair, blue eyes and one extraordinary talent. He could get into trouble even while sitting perfectly still on a chair.

Once, for example, he sat so still that the chair fell apart underneath him.

Another time he tried to help his mum in the kitchen. The result was three broken eggs, flour on the ceiling and a dog that looked like a snowman for two whole days.

But today was supposed to be a completely ordinary Monday.

At least, that is what Dominik thought.

DOMINIK: “No! Monday again? But yesterday was Friday!”

NARRATOR: Dominik hid his head under the pillow. His mum's voice came from the hallway.

MUM: “Dominik! Get up! You have to be at school in fifteen minutes!”

DOMINIK: “IN FIFTEEN MINUTES?!”

NARRATOR: Dominik leapt out of bed so fast that one foot landed in a slipper, the other in his school bag, and his head bumped into his cuddly dinosaur.

DOMINIK: “This is definitely the worst Monday in the history of the world!”

NARRATOR: Two minutes later he was standing in the kitchen.

He was wearing a red jumper, jeans and two odd socks.

Mum looked him up and down from head to toe.

MUM: “Dominik, why is one of your socks green and the other yellow?”

DOMINIK: “So I know which foot is left and which is right.”
